Before I started this food blog in 2015, I literally knew nothing, and I mean nothing about running a website or a food blog. I knew how to cook and bake up a storm but I had no clue how to translate that into a website filled with recipes and inspiration.
One of the biggest challenges was taking great food photos. I struggled so much with making my food look appetizing because there are so many concepts and techniques to learn in food photography.
Without a doubt, the thing that was causing my photos to look off were the backdrops and surfaces I was using the first three years of doing food photography. No matter what I did, if the backdrop or surface I was shooting on didn’t go with the colors in my food scene, my photos would fall flat.
Here’s the thing: The backdrop or surface you use for food or product photography will make or break your image.
The problem is I couldn’t find any photography backdrops that were affordable, high quality, and were large enough to fit large bowls, plates, or other items in my scenes. And it’s deceptively difficult to create your own at home because they never turn out exactly how you envision them.
So I set out to create my own line of Photography Backdrops for food & products to empower other food & lifestyle bloggers, brands, and businesses to help them bring their brand to life.
I’m happy to say that so many food & product photographers are creating beautiful images with our backdrops that help them reach a bigger audience which in turn helps them grow their businesses.
